The US Army has lifted the naval blockade of Iranian ports, which had been in effect since April 13. According to a statement on the US-Iran peace agreement, Washington is committed to restoring maritime traffic and ensuring full trade flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

The agreement includes a point on Iran's reconstruction worth approximately $300 billion. This will be implemented gradually, depending on Tehran's fulfillment of its commitments.

Review Period and Conditions

US Vice President James David Vance emphasized a 60-day review period for implementation. During this time, Iran will receive no money or sanctions relief until it meets all its obligations under the agreement. Vance stressed a strict approach to monitoring the deal.

Iran's Leader's Position

Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei (as per source: Mojtaba Hamenei) stated that he initially did not support the agreement but gave the green light after explanations and guarantees from Iran's president. Khamenei said the president took full responsibility for protecting the people's rights.

Furthermore, Khamenei claimed that US President Donald Trump agreed to the deal out of "desperation" after prolonged military and political pressure. He indicated that the American president used all possible influence to reach the agreement.

Future Talks

The agreement provides for future face-to-face talks between Washington and Tehran. The US Army stated that US warships will remain in the Middle East region to ensure compliance with all terms of the accord.
