US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth testified Tuesday before the Senate Appropriations Committee, revealing that the total cost of the US war with Iran has reached $37.5 billion (approximately €32.9 billion).
For comparison, in mid-May the cost was estimated at around $29 billion. Hegseth stated that the current figure is the latest estimate.
The testimony came as Hegseth defended the Pentagon's request for additional funding of approximately $67 billion (€59 billion). No further details on the use of the extra funds were provided.
