US lawmakers have voiced outrage over the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) decision to relax rules for Russian athletes. The move is seen as a retreat from earlier tough stance. Since Vladimir Putin's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Russian athletes were barred from competing for their country at IOC events. Now, after the loosening of restrictions, a political backlash has emerged from US legislators, who accuse the IOC of undermining principles and supporting an aggressor.
