The United States has seen the highest number of measles cases in 35 years during the first seven months of this year, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A total of 2,318 confirmed infections have been reported by the end of July, already surpassing the 2,289 cases recorded in all of 2025.

Last year, two unvaccinated children died from measles in the US. Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that can lead to severe complications, especially in children. Vaccination is considered the most effective preventive measure.

CDC data indicate that the rise in cases is linked to low vaccination rates in certain regions. Health authorities urge parents to ensure their children receive all recommended vaccines according to the schedule. Outbreaks have been reported in multiple states, and the situation is being closely monitored.
