US media outlets condemn President Donald Trump's agreement with Iran, arguing that Washington has conceded too much without securing significant curbs on Iran's nuclear program.

US media are sharply criticizing President Donald Trump's ceasefire deal with Iran, noting that Washington has abandoned its initial war goals while Iran gained financial advantages. The memorandum of understanding signed Wednesday in Paris stipulates that Iran immediately opens the Strait of Hormuz, while the US lifts its port blockade and oil sanctions.

Criticism comes from across the political spectrum. MS NOW TV channel emphasizes that the White House has not achieved any of its pre-war objectives, while Iran has received enormous financial benefits. The channel also claims the administration is desperately trying to present the deal as a victory, even though Iran has outmaneuvered Trump.

Even Fox News, typically favorable to Trump, cites critics who say the deal rewards Tehran before it has agreed to fully dismantle its nuclear program. The Wall Street Journal calls it the biggest foreign policy deal of Trump's second term but notes that the president gave much more than he got in return.

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who mediated the agreement, posted details on platform X. The memorandum is a temporary solution to allow time for more complex talks on Iran's nuclear program. The deal also includes a future $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran, supported by regional states, once a final nuclear agreement is reached.

The signing process itself raised questions – Trump signed the deal a second time on Wednesday evening, disrupting a planned Friday ceremony and surprising some of his aides.
