US in 'panic' at prospect of Gulf States going it alone, analyst says
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has promised Gulf allies that Washington will protect their interests as it seeks a final Middle East war settlement in talks with Iran. An analyst warns the White House is in 'panic' over the possibility of Gulf states creating an alternative security arrangement.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has assured the United States' Gulf allies that Washington will safeguard their interests while it works to reach a final settlement of the Middle East war in negotiations with Iran.
Independent journalist and author of the newsletter "Badlands" Borzou Daraghai told France 24 that the White House is experiencing "panic" at the prospect of Gulf countries establishing an alternative security arrangement in the region that could undermine the Abraham Accords.
Daraghai suggested that such a move by Gulf states could weaken US influence in the region and unravel previous agreements.
