US President Donald Trump formally requested Congress on Wednesday to approve nearly $88 billion in additional spending. The bulk of this funding is intended to cover the costs of the war with Iran, officials said. This move comes at a time of growing concern in both parties over the course of the conflict and its political price.

In addition to the funding request, key developments on Tuesday in the region included Hezbollah accusing Israel of a new ceasefire violation after an Israeli drone killed two people in southern Lebanon. A day earlier, two people died from Israeli gunfire.

The Israeli military stated it carried out an airstrike targeting suspected Hezbollah militants who crossed into the so-called "security zone" it has established in southern Lebanon. This was the second such incident reported within hours. The situation in the region remains tense, with the international community closely monitoring developments.
