USA's McNulty wins first road world title since 1993; Latvia's Skujiņš finishes 23rd

The road cycling world championships in Montreal have concluded with their final event, the men's group race, won by Brandon McNulty of the United States.

The race was described as a thrilling, closely fought contest, with the American rider ultimately proving strongest. The victory carries added significance: it marks the first world title win for the USA in this event since 1993, ending a wait of more than three decades for American road cycling.

Latvian participants

Latvia was represented by four riders in the event, but only Toms Skujiņš crossed the finish line, taking 23rd place. The other three Latvian riders did not complete the race.

Skujiņš is one of Latvia's most recognized road cyclists on the international circuit, and his 23rd-place finish came in what is typically one of the most demanding and lengthy races on the world championship calendar.

With the conclusion of the men's group race in Montreal, this year's road cycling world championship program has officially come to an end.
