The U.S. Senate has officially placed Bill H.R.2913, known as the "Ukraine Support Act," on its legislative calendar following its second reading. The last action recorded on July 20 saw the bill passed through the second reading and assigned to the Senate's general calendar under number 462. This step means the legislation can now proceed to a full floor vote.

Representative Gregory Meeks introduced the bill on April 14, 2025. It currently falls under the jurisdiction of several House committees, including Foreign Affairs, Transportation and Infrastructure, Intelligence, Ways and Means, Rules, Judiciary, Financial Services, Armed Services, and Budget.

Separately, a bill to strengthen sanctions against Russia, authored by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, has garnered over 60 co-sponsors — enough to ensure its passage. Media reports also indicate that President Donald Trump is prepared to support this bipartisan sanctions legislation.
