A US official announced on Sunday that Washington and Tehran will continue negotiations aimed at ending the Middle East war, with both sides ceasing attacks after recent clashes. The breakthrough came after Iran launched drone and missile strikes against Bahrain and Kuwait, threatening a complete halt in talks if the US continued its assaults on Iran.

Under the agreement, the US and Iran will meet on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, to resolve their dispute over the Strait of Hormuz. The official confirmed that both sides have agreed to stand down, de-escalating tensions in the region.

Separately, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri rejected a US–Israel–Lebanon framework deal, calling it "an agreement of dictates" that fails to protect Lebanon's rights. This came as the Israeli military destroyed a 200-meter-long tunnel used by Hezbollah in a village in southern Lebanon.

The developments mark a significant shift in Middle East dynamics, with Iran's aggressive actions countered by diplomatic efforts. The talks in Doha will focus on maritime security and broader regional stability.
