Pause in US-Iran Strikes Reduces Oil Prices

Hopes for de-escalation between the US and Iran have led to a sharp drop in global oil prices.

Global oil markets have experienced a rapid decline in prices, driven by hopes that tensions between the United States and Iran are easing. Washington announced it has temporarily halted attacks to give diplomacy a chance. However, Tehran denied it had requested to resume talks with the US and continues to insist on full control over the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically vital oil transit route.

Oil prices fell as traders assessed signs of possible conflict de-escalation. While the US pause in strikes has generated optimism, Iran's stance on the Strait of Hormuz maintains tension. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important oil transit arteries, and any threats to its control could significantly affect global oil supply.

Analysts note that the situation remains unstable, and oil prices could rise again if diplomatic efforts fail or regional tensions resume. For now, markets respond with cautious optimism, but Iran's refusal to engage in talks suggests that the issue of the Strait of Hormuz remains a major sticking point.
