The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on social media platform X that US forces began a new round of strikes against Iran at 4:00 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, ordered by the Commander-in-Chief. The strikes aim to further degrade Iranian military capabilities that are used to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

This is the latest US military action in the region after President Donald Trump increased pressure on Iran, demanding a deal with Washington. Trump warned that if no agreement is reached, "nobody will be left" in the country.

Meanwhile, the United States had previously reported the deaths of two service members and the disappearance of another after Iranian strikes on a facility in Jordan. The new strikes come in response to ongoing threats to maritime traffic in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world's oil is transported.
