US State Department issues global security alert for Americans amid rising Middle East tensions

The US State Department on Tuesday released a global security alert, advising all Americans abroad to be especially vigilant. The warning comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerning Iran and its affiliated groups.

The department stated that Iran and its proxies may target US interests and American citizens overseas. Threats are not limited to diplomatic facilities in the Middle East but also extend to US interests elsewhere in the world.

In the alert, American citizens are urged to follow instructions from local embassies or consulates, carefully assess the necessity of travel, and prepare for possible flight disruptions and airspace closures in certain regions.

The warning follows ongoing military escalation between the US and Iran. President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the US is "not finished" with Iran and warned that the next possible target could be an underground nuclear facility near Natanz.
