Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has launched a six-month review of US military force posture in Europe. The review will scrutinize troops, bases and access rights as Washington pressures allies to take the lead on Europe’s defense.
Canada’s procurement chief has said a decision on new submarines is expected within 30 days. The decision would move Ottawa closer to choosing between Germany’s TKMS and South Korea’s Hanwha Ocean for what could become Canada’s biggest-ever procurement.
German Major General Michael Traut has warned that Russia may take its nuclear threat into space. He said Berlin is preparing new military space capabilities, including jammers, lasers and a sovereign satellite communications network.
