US strikes targets in Iran for fifth day

US forces struck targets in Iran on Wednesday to further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes are now in their fifth day.

The US military conducted fresh strikes against Iranian targets on Wednesday, aiming to further weaken Iran's capacity to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, according to US Central Command (CENTCOM).

In a statement, CENTCOM said that during the 90-minute wave of strikes, precision munitions were used against coastal defense systems, as well as cruise missile storage facilities and launch sites on Greater Tunb Island.

The US strikes on Iran have now been ongoing for the fifth consecutive day, CENTCOM reported.
