US Launches New Strikes on Iranian Military Targets
In the early hours of July 23, US forces began a new series of strikes against Iranian military targets, stating the operation aims to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten civilian sailors and commercial vessels in regional waters.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that a new wave of strikes against Iranian military targets began on the night of July 23 Kyiv time. The operation commenced after midnight Kyiv time (5:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday).
According to CENTCOM, the operation will continue with the goal of further weakening Iran's capability to pose a threat to civilian mariners and commercial ships transiting regional waters.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that American forces would attack Iran's bridges and power plants in response to strikes on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had previously expressed skepticism about possible negotiations with Iran to end the war.
CENTCOM had previously completed the eleventh round of strikes against Iran.
