Updated Cupra Born arrives with extended driving range and refreshed design

Cupra has introduced a refreshed version of its Born electric vehicle, bringing several changes while keeping the same underlying platform. The updated model is available to order immediately, with deliveries expected this autumn. Prices start at 33,900 euros.

Design changes

The revised Born features new headlights, a sportier front section with so-called speed grooves, a redesigned rear end, and new aerodynamic side skirts. The illuminated Cupra logo is now integrated into the rear light design.

Significantly improved range

Although the technical platform remains unchanged from the previous generation, the new model gets an updated drive battery that substantially boosts driving range. With the smaller battery, just under 60 kWh, the car can travel roughly 400 kilometers, while the largest battery option extends range up to 600 kilometers. Even the base Born Plus version, with a 190-horsepower motor, achieves about 450 kilometers of range.

Equipment and interior

The trunk retains its previous capacity and dual-floor design. A basic charging cable is included as standard, while a conventional charging cable costs an extra 380 euros. The car comes with vehicle-to-load functionality for powering external devices, though the required 220-volt adapter must be purchased separately.

Inside, many familiar Born features remain — the steering wheel keeps physical buttons, and the driver's door has a separate switch for each window. The speedometer display is borrowed from the newer Cupra Raval, while the central infotainment screen has grown to 12.9 inches and runs on an Android-based system. Electrically adjustable seats are available as an optional extra.
