Updated Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680: More Power and Luxury

Mercedes-Benz has introduced the updated Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680, set to arrive as a 2027 model year vehicle. The luxury SUV receives numerous enhancements both inside and out.

The exterior design has undergone significant changes, with a completely redesigned front end featuring an illuminated radiator grille frame. For the first time in the brand's history, both the Maybach logo in the grille and the vertical Mercedes-Benz star on the hood are illuminated. Standard equipment includes 22-inch wheels, with optional 23-inch forged wheels featuring a ball bearing mechanism that keeps the star emblem upright.

Inside, the MBUX Superscreen system with three displays and the latest-generation multimedia software is installed. The instrument design uses rose gold tones, ventilation outlets are illuminated, and the massage function has been improved for both rows of seats. A modernized Burmester 3D Surround audio system with Dolby Atmos, 15 speakers, and a 710-watt amplifier is standard.

Under the hood lies a new-generation 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine (M1770 Evo) producing 603 hp and 850 Nm of torque – increases of 53 hp and 121 Nm over the previous model. The engine is paired with a second-generation starter generator. The steering system has been improved, and Airmatic air suspension comes standard. Optional E-Active Body Control actively adjusts springing and damping to reduce body roll.

The updated model is already available for ordering in China, while sales in Europe and the US will begin in late July 2026. Prices have not been disclosed.
