Fifth application round opens for small farm investment support
Latvia's Rural Support Service has opened a fifth round of applications for small farm investment support, with a total of €4.578 million available. The funding is distributed across nine regional agricultural authorities.

The Rural Support Service (LAD) has launched the fifth application round of the programme "Support for Investments in Small Farms", operating under the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023-2027 and funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. A total of €4.578 million is available in this round.
Regional distribution
The funding will be split among nine LAD regional agricultural authorities. The largest allocation, €860,646, goes to the South Latgale regional authority, followed by North Vidzeme with €637,598 and South Kurzeme with €586,056. Central Latvia's authority receives €511,452, while East Latgale is allocated €487,084. The North-East regional authority gets €482,100, Greater Riga €362,829, Zemgale €349,492, and the smallest share, €301,093, goes to the North Kurzeme regional authority.
Project implementation conditions
Deadlines for completing projects depend on the type of investment. Projects using funding solely to purchase production fixed assets must be completed within a year and a half of approval. Projects that also include construction or reconstruction work, alongside purchasing fixed assets, have a longer deadline of two years.
Applicants must submit their project proposals through LAD's electronic application system. LAD is a state institution supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture that administers state and European Union support for rural areas, agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
