A heartfelt event recently marked the launch of a new book by journalist Lia Guļevska dedicated to singer Adrians Kukuvass. The evening was hosted by Diāna Sproģe, daughter of Adrians' sister Lia, who noted that the warmth and personal reflections found in the book were just as vividly expressed in person by those gathered.

Guests share memories

Attendees included architect Andris Kronbergs, musician Raimonds Bartaševičs, actor Normunds Bērzs, composer Māris Lasmanis, Dace Štrodaha, art historian Ojārs Spārītis, Valdis Svirskis, Velta Karnilaviciene and others, all of whom spoke about Adrians in his roles as father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. Their stories alternated with performances of Kukuvass's well-known songs, giving the event a nostalgic yet celebratory tone.

A new song premiered

As a highlight of the evening, Adrians Kukuvass performed the premiere of his song "Apskaidrība" ("Enlightenment"), part of a new song cycle set to poetry written by pastor Krists Kalniņš.

Anniversary concert ahead

Several songs from this new cycle will also feature at Kukuvass's upcoming 75th anniversary concert, scheduled for September 25 at the Slampe Culture Palace. Tickets for the concert are available through the Biļešu Paradīze ticketing network.
