Three people were injured on Friday evening while on a ride at the Maltby Crags Fair in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, police have said. South Yorkshire Police confirmed that those hurt were aged 11, 13 and 21, and that all three were taken to hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.

The fair closed earlier than planned following the incident. Police temporarily closed Blyth Lane between Muglet Lane and Victoria Road to allow visitors to leave the site safely; the road has since reopened to traffic.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene at around 18:50 BST and confirmed that the two injured children were taken to Sheffield Children's Hospital. The service dispatched two ambulances and three rapid response vehicles to attend to those affected.

Further details about the circumstances of the incident and the condition of those injured have not yet been made public.
