Inmo recalls Air3 smart glasses over overheating temple burn risk
Inmo has recalled its Air3 smart glasses after users reported burning sensations from an overheating left temple, with the company offering a free software fix.
Smart glasses maker Inmo has issued a recall for its Air3 model after the left temple of the device was found to overheat during extended use, posing a burn hazard, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
So far, 10 reports have been received of users experiencing a burning sensation on the face and left ear area while wearing the Air3.
Over 1,600 units affected
The recall covers more than 1,600 Air3 glasses sold in the US and Canada between December 2025 and August 2026, through the company's website, Amazon, and a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign. The glasses were priced between $900 and $1,300. They can be identified by their black frames and a label reading "Air3" and "Inmo" on the right temple.
Free software fix offered
Inmo's recall page instructs consumers to stop using the Air3 immediately and contact the company's support team by phone or email to receive a free online software update intended to fix the issue.
Reviews of the glasses dating back roughly seven months had already flagged the overheating left temple and the burning sensation it caused. The company appears to have been aware of the problem beforehand, as it included a protective sleeve with the glasses meant to shield the wearer's head from excessive heat.
