Auda claimed a 1:0 home win over Grobiņa in Riga on Sunday in round 29 of the Tonybet Latvian football top league. The only goal came in the 77th minute when Grobiņa's own player, Rolands Baravīks, put the ball into his own net.

The win extended Auda's strong recent form — the team's last league defeat came at the end of June, and since then it has won four of six matches while drawing twice. Grobiņa, meanwhile, saw its five-match unbeaten run come to an end, a streak that had already been broken in the previous round against Daugavpils.

In earlier meetings this season between the two sides, Auda won 2:0 and 7:0, while their third encounter ended goalless. Auda also beat Grobiņa 3:2 after extra time in the Latvian Cup quarterfinal.

Other results and standings

On Saturday, Tukums 2000 beat Ogre United 2:1 at home, while Super Nova won 1:0 away against Jelgava. Monday's fixtures see Riga host Daugavpils and RFS face Liepāja.

RFS leads the table with 69 points from 27 matches, followed by Riga on 65 points. Auda sits third with 56 points from 28 games, ahead of Liepāja on 40 and Daugavpils on 37. Super Nova is sixth with 32 points from 27 matches, Jelgava has 31 points from 29 games, Grobiņa has 24, and Tukums 2000 has 23, while Ogre United sits bottom of the table with 14 points from 28 matches.

The 2026 season is being played over four rounds of fixtures, with a total of 180 matches across 36 rounds. The final round is scheduled for November 8. Riga were champions last season.
