Auda beats Ogre United 1:0 at home in Latvian top-flight match

Auda defeated Ogre United 1:0 at home in a rescheduled round-25 match of the Latvian football top division, securing at least third place in the standings.

On Wednesday, a rescheduled round-25 match of the Tonybet Latvian football top division took place, with Auda beating Ogre United 1:0 (1:0) on home ground.

The home side took the lead as early as the 12th minute, when Eduards Dashkevich scored following a pass from Barthelemy Diédhiou. Fifteen minutes into the second half, Auda goalkeeper Nils Purins made a save to keep the score intact. Auda then launched a quick counterattack, which was stopped by visiting goalkeeper Nikita Parfyonov. In stoppage time, Ogre United managed to get the ball into the home team's net, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

This was the two teams' third meeting this season — their first match ended in a 1:1 draw, while Auda won the second 2:0.

With the win, Auda now has 60 points and has secured at least third place in the championship. RFS leads the table with 73 points from 29 matches, followed by Riga in second with 70 points from 30 matches. Further down are Liepaja (42 points), Daugavpils (38 points), Super Nova (35 points from 29 matches), Jelgava (32 points from 30 matches), Grobina (25 points) and Tukums 2000 (23 points). Ogre United sits at the bottom of the table with 15 points.

The 2026 season is being played in four rounds with a total of 36 rounds and 180 matches, with the final round scheduled for November 8. Riga won the title last season.
