Audi is preparing to introduce a new compact electric model that will become the brand's most affordable electric vehicle. Named A2 e-tron, it will have its world premiere this autumn, with a starting price of €38,200.

Although the car is still undergoing testing, spy shots reveal that it retains several classic Audi A2 design cues – a long roofline, a two-part rear window, and compact door handles.

Technically, the A2 e-tron shares the MEB platform with the Volkswagen ID. Polo. Buyers will be able to choose from four power outputs: 125, 140, 170, and 240 kW. Audi promises a range of up to 649 km on the WLTP cycle and energy consumption starting at 13.0 kWh/100 km, making it one of the most efficient EVs in its class.

Standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. Production will take place at Audi’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, and the model will slot below the Q4 e-tron in the lineup.
