Tractor plunges into pond in Augšdaugava municipality, driver dies
On Monday, a tractor driver drove into a backyard pond in Augšdaugava municipality and died. Police have launched a criminal investigation.
The State Police received a report on Monday about a fatal accident in Augšdaugava municipality, where a person driving a tractor under unclear circumstances entered a backyard pond and died.
A criminal investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the incident.
In the past 24 hours, a total of 155 road traffic accidents were recorded in Latvia, in which ten people were injured and one died. In the field of road traffic, 391 administrative decisions were made, including 159 for speeding and one for aggressive driving. One administrative violation process and four criminal proceedings were started for driving under the influence of alcohol, and one criminal proceeding for possible drug influence.
