Supreme Court Reviews Dispute Over 'Thief' Accusation at Building Meeting
Latvia's Supreme Court is hearing a case between a building manager and an apartment owner, stemming from a heated exchange during a residents' meeting where the manager was called a thief.

On December 22, 2022, during a residents' meeting at an apartment building in Riga, a heated argument erupted between the building manager and one of the apartment owners. The meeting was already tense, with discussions revolving around building management and financial issues.
During the debate, the manager asked a provocative question: "Do you think I'm a thief?" According to court documents, the apartment owner then repeatedly shouted "Thief!" in front of other residents. This incident sparked a legal dispute.
The Supreme Court is now reviewing the case, examining the actions and legal implications for both parties. A final decision has not yet been reached, but the case has reached the highest judicial level.
