Sõprus to open summer cinema on Harjumägi in August
From August 21 to 23, the Sõprus cinema will host outdoor screenings on Harjumägi hill, featuring three different films including a collaboration with the Black Nights Film Festival.
The Sõprus cinema will run a summer cinema on Harjumägi hill from August 21 to 23, showing a different film each evening. On August 21, it will screen Chilean director Alejandro Jodorowsky's 1973 film "The Holy Mountain". On August 22, in cooperation with the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), which celebrates its 30th anniversary, the 2003 Norwegian comedy "Kitchen Stories" by Bent Hamer will be shown. The program concludes on August 23 with Robert Zemeckis's 1994 film "Forrest Gump", paying tribute to participants of the Ironman triathlon taking place that weekend.
All screenings start after sunset, approximately at 9:30 PM. Films will be in their original language with Estonian and English subtitles. Each screening will be preceded by an introduction. A few days earlier, Sõprus will also organize a one-evening summer cinema in Lasnamäe.
Last year, the summer cinema was held in the Rotermann quarter, and the year before in the Telliskivi quarter.
