August ratings: support for PM's party keeps rising, 'Stability!' and 'For Latvia's Development' cross 2% mark

The latest survey by public opinion research center SKDS reveals shifts in support for Latvia's political parties in August. The poll was conducted between August 13 and 19.
According to the data, support continues to grow for the party led by Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs, 'Apvienotais saraksts' (United List). This marks another consecutive month in which the party's popularity has shown an upward trend.
However, the picture is different for the other parties in the ruling coalition, whose support declined in August. The survey does not specify the exact percentage-point changes for each party's rating, but the overall trend points to fluctuating popularity among coalition partners.
Two parties cross the 2% threshold
The poll data show that two parties surpassed the significant 2% support threshold in August — 'Stabilitātei!' (For Stability!) and 'Latvijas attīstībai' (For Latvia's Development). In Latvia, parties need at least 5% voter support to qualify for seats in the Saeima, but the 2% threshold is regarded as an important indicator of a party's political influence and public recognition.
