Augustibluus: second day featured musicians from eight countries
The second day of the Augustibluus festival featured acts from eight countries, with the organizer highlighting young artists as the future of blues.
On Saturday, the second day of the Augustibluus festival, musicians from eight countries took to the stages. Festival organizer Raul Ukareda noted that, just like on the opening day, young performers proved that blues is kept alive by the passionate generation of zoomers.
According to him, the best blues music this year was performed by young artists. Conversations with them confirmed that blues is being carried not by touring giants of the previous century, but by young people who live, breathe and play it every day. Ukareda believes this trend will become increasingly evident over time.
The main stage featured Gunhild Carling with The Carling Family, as well as Will Wilde and Toby Lee. At the Haapsalu railway station stage, Australian Mr Black & Blues, Finnish trio Micke & Lefty feat. Chef, and Estonian slide guitarist Andres Roots performed; Roots celebrated his 50th birthday with a special programme.
The dance pavilion stage on the promenade was also popular, hosting the 12th blues-and-poetry evening "bluule". It was hosted by Georg Merilo, with guests Mihkel Raud and guitarist Brad Jurjens.
