Eastern Hospital sees patients with heat exhaustion and tick bites during holiday weekend
During the extended Jāņi (Midsummer) holiday weekend, 264 people sought help at the Emergency Department of Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital, mostly for heat-related issues and tick bites.

On Monday, June 22, the Emergency Department of Riga Eastern Clinical University Hospital received 264 patients. The majority arrived on their own, not by ambulance.
Throughout the long Jāņi holiday weekend, doctors have observed an increase in cases of tick bites and health problems caused by hot weather. Many cases involved ticks already attached to the skin, as well as heat-related conditions.
