Rain in eastern Latvia, clearing skies in Kurzeme
On Thursday morning rain fell across Latgale, Sēlija and parts of Vidzeme, while skies gradually cleared in Kurzeme. Morning temperatures ranged between +10 and +16 degrees.

Meteorological data show that rain was falling across much of Latgale, Sēlija, and the southern and eastern parts of Vidzeme on Thursday morning. In Kurzeme, however, skies were gradually clearing, with haze reported in some areas.
Winds were light to moderate from the southwest, with gusts along the coast reaching up to 13 meters per second. Air quality was rated as good.
Temperature and humidity
Early morning air temperatures across the country ranged from +13 to +16 degrees, though parts of Kurzeme saw lower readings of +10 to +12 degrees. Relative humidity was high across most of the country, between 85 and 100 percent, while the western coast of Kurzeme recorded lower levels of 75-80 percent.
In Riga, skies were cloudy on Thursday morning with a light southwest wind of three meters per second. The air temperature in the capital stood at +14 degrees, with humidity nearing 90 percent.
Wednesday's extremes
Data from the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre's observation network showed that Wednesday's maximum temperatures varied widely across the country, ranging from +18.7 degrees in Alūksne to +21.5 degrees in Mērsrags.
