RSU beach volleyball duo Gustavs Auzins and Atvars Ozolins defeated LU students in the semifinal, while LU women's team lost and will compete for bronze.

In the university beach volleyball tournament, Latvian teams are set to compete for medals on Saturday. In the men's competition, the Riga Stradins University (RSU) duo of Gustavs Auzins and Atvars Ozolins dominated the semifinal against the University of Latvia (LU) pair Ernests Puskundzis and Olivers Bulgacs, winning 21:16 and 21:14 to secure a spot in the gold medal match.
The final is scheduled for Saturday at 13:00 Latvian time, where RSU will face the University of Klagenfurt from Austria. Meanwhile, the LU men's duo will play in the bronze medal match at 11:00 against the same Austrian team, which lost in the other semifinal.
In the women's tournament, LU's Anija Ozolina and Vanesa Grosberga, who had won two matches earlier in the day, could not overcome the University of Ljubljana from Slovenia in the semifinal. The Latvian students lost 15:21 and 13:21, allowing their opponents to avenge their group-stage defeat.
The LU women's pair will have a chance to claim bronze on Saturday at 10:00 Latvian time, facing the University of Toulouse from France. All medal matches will take place on Saturday, and Latvian teams remain in contention for several accolades.
