Accident on Liepāja Highway: BMW Driver Flees the Scene

On Saturday in Jelgava Municipality, a collision between two cars occurred, after which the BMW driver left on foot. No casualties reported.

On Saturday, June 27, at 3:08 PM, the State Police received a report of a traffic accident on the Riga–Liepāja highway at kilometer 25, in Tireļi, Valgunde Parish. Two passenger cars were involved – a BMW and a Mini Cooper.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found that the driver of the BMW had already abandoned the vehicle and left on foot. Witness video shows the Mini Cooper overturned on its roof in a ditch, while the BMW had driven further into a meadow. Police are investigating the circumstances and identifying the person involved.

According to initial information, no one was injured in the accident. Traffic was temporarily blocked but was restored in both directions around 4:00 PM.
