Major works completed to reduce flood risk around Lake Babīte
The reconstruction of three pumping stations and renovation of four protective dams has been completed in the Lake Babīte polder to reduce flood risks for surrounding areas and residents.

Extensive hydrotechnical works have been completed in the Lake Babīte polder aimed at reducing flood risks for the surrounding areas and their residents.
As part of the project, three pumping stations were reconstructed. These stations play a key role in regulating water levels within the polder. In addition, four protective dams were renovated, which are important for preventing flooding.
Such infrastructure investments are significant for lowering the risk of flooding in residential and other areas around Lake Babīte during periods of heavy rainfall or elevated water levels.
