Balodis holds tenth place after second round of PDGA World Championship
Latvian disc golfer Rainers Balodis is tied for tenth place after the second round of the PDGA World Championship in the United States, while the other Latvian competitors sit further down the standings.
The second round of the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) World Championship, held in Milford, USA, took place on Thursday, with a strong performance from Latvian player Rainers Balodis.
In the men's Pro Open division, Balodis completed the 18-basket round in 58 throws, eight strokes under the course PAR. The result places him tied for tenth overall after two rounds.
A second Latvian competitor, Edgars Saulītis, is playing in a separate men's group, where he finished the second round with 70 throws, five strokes over PAR. That performance leaves him tied for 118th place among 208 competitors in his division.
Women's competition
Two Latvian women are also competing in the tournament. Elizabete Pēkšena carded 68 throws in the second round, two strokes under PAR, putting her in a tie for 25th place overall.
Sintija Klezberga posted the same score of 68 throws, also two under PAR, in the second round. However, her overall standing is lower, tied for 37th place among 92 competitors in the women's field.
The championship consists of four rounds in total and is set to conclude on Sunday.
