A new dedicated waste sorting facility is planned for Baloži, located at Šķirotavas iela 2. The site will allow residents to drop off recyclable materials such as paper, PET bottles, plastics, glass, metal, light vehicle tires, bulky waste, household hazardous waste, as well as electrical and electronic equipment free of charge.

Construction is expected to be completed within nine months after the municipality transfers a plot of approximately 500 square meters to the waste management company. The facility will be built and operated by SIA "CleanR", which already provides waste management services in Ķekava Municipality.

Currently, the municipality operates two sorting sites: one at "Gurnicas" in Ķekava Parish and another at Rīgas iela 27 in Baldone. At these locations, residents can dispose of various waste types for free, while bulky waste and certain other items incur a fee. The new Baloži site will expand the existing infrastructure.

Last year, CleanR reported a turnover of 48.982 million euros, a decrease of 7.1% from 2024, but profit rose by 12.5% to 9.783 million euros. The company paid extraordinary dividends of 509,289 euros. CleanR was registered in 2004 with a share capital of 1.2 million euros and is wholly owned by AS "CleanR grupa".
