Riga's 'White Night' returns for 21st time — culture journalists share their picks
On the night of September 5–6, Riga will host the 'White Night' contemporary culture forum with 30 free art and culture events across the city. LSM, Latvian Television and Latvian Radio culture journalists have shared recommendations on what not to miss.
Riga is set to hold the 21st edition of its contemporary culture forum 'White Night' (Baltā nakts) on the night of September 5 to 6, offering residents and visitors a wide-ranging, free program of art and culture.
This year's program is not confined to the city centre. A total of 30 cultural events have been arranged across Old Riga and the city centre as well as neighbourhoods including Āgenskalns, Zasulauks, Dzirciems, Brasa, Skanste, Grīziņkalns, Teika, Vecmīlgrāvis and Sarkandaugava.

Given the scale of the offerings, culture journalists from the LSM portal, Latvian Television and Latvian Radio have put together their own recommendations for planning a night-time walk through the city to catch the events likely to appeal most.
Since its inception, the 'White Night' forum has become one of Riga's most recognisable early-autumn traditions, drawing large numbers of visitors each year and offering a chance to rediscover the city through art and culture in various parts of town, including those less frequently visited.
