White House launches 24/7 "Trump TV" channel with only positive coverage of president

The White House administration has launched a project called "TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station" on its YouTube channel — a 24-hour broadcast featuring only selected videos and highlights of President Donald Trump, with no critical commentary included. According to the White House's announcement, the channel will air "the best videos and most important moments" featuring the president.

The launch follows Trump's decision to bar White House access to journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico, whom he accused of spreading "fake news." Western media report that the decision came after aide Natalie Harp showed the president clips of critical reporting about him.

Networks declare boycott

In solidarity with the barred journalists, major US television networks — FOX News Media, ABC News, CBS News, CNN and NBC News — announced a boycott and refused to cover events involving Trump. In a joint statement, the networks said no administration should restrict a news organization's work simply because it disagrees with its coverage.

Trump responded by calling the media a "threat to democracy" and said he was not obligated to grant them access, demanding to be treated with "decency, respect and dignity."

CNN, MS NOW and Politico have jointly filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington, demanding immediate restoration of their credentials. In the filing, the outlets described the administration's actions as "the most blatant assault" on the First Amendment to the US Constitution. Trump has already publicly criticized District Judge Timothy Kelly, who was assigned to the case.

Earlier precedents

In 2025, the Trump administration already barred Associated Press journalists from the White House after the agency refused to adopt the president's renaming of the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America." Associated Press is still contesting that decision in court. The president later banned a Wall Street Journal reporter from flying aboard Air Force One after the outlet published a story about Trump's friendship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
