Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Wednesday, June 24, that since Monday, June 22, the retranslators located in Belarus and used by Russia to coordinate drone attacks on Ukraine have stopped functioning. Zelensky said he received this information from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and intelligence services.

Zelensky mentioned he does not yet know whether the devices were dismantled or simply turned off, but he is closely monitoring the situation and receiving daily reports. Earlier, on Friday, he had revealed that four such retranslators were positioned in the Gomel and Brest regions of Belarus. According to him, these retranslators enabled Russian strikes on the Zhytomyr, Lviv, and Volyn regions, targeting energy infrastructure, railways, and civilian settlements.

Zelensky demanded that Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko remove or disable the retranslators within a week, stressing that civilians, including children, were dying daily because of them. He warned that if Belarus did not act, Ukraine would take matters into its own hands. Lukashenko did not publicly address the retranslator issue but stated that Belarus should not be dragged into the war.
