Belarus to close its embassy in Finland
Belarus will shut down its embassy in Finland from September 1, directing people to its embassy in Stockholm or consulate in Daugavpils, Latvia. Finland has never had its own embassy in Minsk.

Belarus is closing its diplomatic mission in Finland, according to the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, which cited an official list of decisions by Belarusian authorities. The embassy will cease operations on September 1.
The decision was formalized in a resolution signed by Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin.
The Belarusian embassy has been located in the Kaartinkaupunki district of Helsinki. It also held additional accreditation for Denmark, meaning it represented Belarus on Danish territory as well.
Where to turn instead
People who need services from the Belarusian diplomatic mission have been advised to contact either the embassy in Stockholm or the consulate in Daugavpils, Latvia, going forward.
The Belarusian embassy in Finland was opened in 2011. Finland, for its part, does not have its own embassy in Minsk — only a representative office of its Ministry for Foreign Affairs operates there.
