Latvia's National Armed Forces (NAF) have reported that an unidentified object has fallen on the territory of Balvi Municipality. The announcement followed an air raid alert declared in the Ludza and Balvi municipalities.
The search for the object is ongoing. The source does not say what kind of object it is, where it came from or where exactly it landed. There are also no reports of casualties or damage.
An air alert followed by an object falling in Latvia's eastern municipalities matters because the armed forces are searching for it and trying to establish its origin. More information is expected once the search is finished.
