Bandai has stirred excitement among Tamagotchi fans with the announcement of a new wearable device — a fully functional Tamagotchi shaped like a ring that fits on a finger. Unlike earlier accessories that merely resembled the classic toy, this one is an actual playable Tamagotchi.

A teaser video revealed three color options: an iridescent white and pink, a silver and black, and a gold and blue version. The ring is the smallest working Tamagotchi released so far, even smaller than the previous Mini and Nano models, but unlike those, it comes with a color display.

Controls and features

The device offers more than 30 different Tamagotchi characters to raise. A demonstration video showed that the three buttons on the front of the egg-shaped device are purely decorative, while actual gameplay is controlled through two buttons located on its sides. The ring also comes with a charging cradle that allows continued play while charging.

Availability and price

Pre-orders opened on August 27 and run through October 6, but the device is currently sold only in Japan, with no word yet on release elsewhere, including the US. International resellers' stock reportedly sold out quickly. The ring is priced at 7,700 yen, roughly $48. It is expected to launch in February 2027.
