At least seven dead after teenage boy shoots grandparents, opens fire at Bangkok school

A 14-year-old boy shot and killed his grandparents in Thailand's capital Bangkok before opening fire at the school he attended, leaving at least seven people dead including the attacker, who took his own life.

At least seven people have died in a shooting attack in Bangkok, Thailand, authorities say. A 14-year-old boy is reported to have shot and killed his grandparents before traveling to the school where he was a student and opening fire.

According to authorities, the boy used a handgun that belonged to his grandfather to carry out the killings. After the shooting at the school, the teenager turned the weapon on himself and died by suicide.

BBC South East Asia correspondent Jonathan Head reported from the scene of the attack at the school. Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and motive behind the shooting.
