Bareiķis and Caune Win Latvian 5km Championship
Artūrs Bareiķis and Agate Caune have been crowned Latvian champions in the 5km road race, an event held for the sixth time since 2017.

The Latvian championship in the 5km road distance took place for the sixth time this year. In the men’s competition, Artūrs Bareiķis became the first-time Latvian champion in any distance, completing the course in 15 minutes and 26 seconds. Silver medalist Jānis Mūrnieks (SK “Tērauds”) was just two seconds behind. Bronze went to Hermanis Valtass (SS “Arkādija”) with a time of 15:41. In the women’s race, Agate Caune won the Latvian 5km title for the second time, finishing in 16:34. She previously won in 2024, and this victory makes her a 12-time Latvian champion across all distances. Marta Livčāne took silver (17:33), and Poļina Curikova (18:06) earned bronze; both are from Skriešanas skola.
