Barry scores in consecutive matches as Everton beat Newcastle in the Premier League
French striker Thierno Barry scored in Everton's Premier League win at Newcastle United, matching his previous season's goal tally in just 12 games. Newcastle's manager argued the goal followed a foul.

Football, English Premier League: Everton striker Thierno Barry scored on Monday night as the Liverpool-based club won away at Newcastle United's St James' Park. It was the Frenchman's second goal against Newcastle in five days.
Last season the 24-year-old scored eight goals in 41 appearances. This season he has equalled that figure in only 12 games. Among Premier League players, only Erling Haaland, with 13, has scored more goals in all competitions this season than Barry's eight.
A difficult first year
Barry joined Everton from Spanish club Villarreal last summer for £27m. He grew up watching Wayne Rooney and Romelu Lukaku score for Everton. His start on Merseyside was tough: he had just one shot in his first 16 games for the club. Last month he posted a video of himself breaking down during a private training session last season.
He is currently Everton's only recognised senior striker, after Beto moved to Italian club Fiorentina, which makes him indispensable to the team.
A disputed goal
Speaking to Sky Sports, Barry said he had worked a lot during the summer and the result was now visible. He added that he wanted to enjoy this season more than the last. His celebration started with a knee slide and finished with dance moves.
Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle told BBC Sport there had been a clear foul on Fabian Schar in the build-up to the goal.
