Barcelona wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a convincing 5:2 victory over Egyptian side Al Ahly in a friendly played in Basel. Among the scorers was 18-year-old Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim, who joined Barcelona this year from Al Ahly for around €1.5 million.

Abdelkarim put the hosts ahead after half an hour, finishing off a pass from Alejandro Balde. The young striker featured for Egypt at this summer's World Cup finals and has now scored four goals for Barcelona during pre-season.

Near the end of the first half, Barcelona were awarded a penalty after Raphinha was fouled inside the box. The Brazilian converted the spot kick himself, doubling his side's lead.

Al Ahly pulled one back in the second half, with Zizo capitalizing on a quick breakaway against the goalkeeper in the 51st minute. However, Barcelona were awarded another penalty late in regulation time after new signing Anthony Gordon was fouled in the area. The England international failed to convert his first potential goal for the club, as veteran Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy saved his effort.

The win brings Barcelona's pre-season schedule to a close. The club will open its La Liga campaign on Sunday with an away match against Elche.
