Home Café Days in Bārta parish raise funds to help young Teodors

This past weekend, communities across Latvia took part in the annual Home Café Days initiative, where residents open cafés in their homes or yards and direct the proceeds to charitable causes. In Bārta parish, this year's event carried special significance, as the funds raised were intended to help bring three-and-a-half-year-old Teodors closer to receiving therapy in the United States.

Teodors has been diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome. Although doctors' prognoses for the boy have not been favorable, his family and those around him note that he has shown remarkable persistence, exceeding what medical professionals had expected.

Community support

Over the weekend, visitors had the opportunity to support the cause by attending the specially organized cafés in Bārta parish and donating toward the boy's treatment. The funds collected during the event are meant to help the family move closer to securing the therapy Teodors needs abroad.
