BK Ogre Signs Long-Term Contracts with Two Youth Academy Players
BK Ogre has signed two-year contracts with young basketball players Martins Kudrjavcevs and Luka Hlebovickis, focusing on local youth development.
Basketball club "Ogre" continues to build its roster for the upcoming season, turning its attention to homegrown talent. The club has announced the signing of two-year contracts with two players from the city's sports school — 17-year-old Martins Kudrjavcevs and 16-year-old Luka Hlebovickis.
The contracts run until the end of their high school studies, part of a strategy to place greater trust in local young players as head coach Artūrs Visockis-Rubenis returns to the helm. Hlebovickis is the son of former player Michał Hlebovicki, who played for Barons, Jēkabpils, and Ogre. Luka already debuted for Ogre last season, appearing in five games, averaging 4.5 minutes and 1.4 points per contest.
Kudrjavcevs, meanwhile, played in four Latvian-Estonian league games last season but has yet to score his first points. He grabbed one rebound in each of two games. With the addition of both youngsters, Ogre's current roster also includes Dreikers Dobss, Kārlis Šilke-Žunda, Jēkabs Kapustāns, and others.
