Two Three-Year-Old Girls Wander Away from Kindergarten in Bauska

On Monday, two three-year-old girls were noticed outside a preschool facility in Bauska. A local resident saw the children and immediately contacted the relevant services. The municipality reported that the Bauska district municipal police were informed, and the kindergarten staff reacted quickly by going after the children.

An assessment of the incident revealed that the situation arose because the preschool's grounds were temporarily not fully closed. The education department has initiated additional safety measures, including repeated discussions with preschool directors and staff about safety regulations and response procedures to prevent similar incidents.

The municipality emphasizes that the most important thing is that the children are safe. During the summer period, duty groups operate in preschools in the region, where children from different groups may be present.
